Rollei Pride

I’ve been looking to get a small, pocket-able, vintage 35mm camera for some time now. After a few months of research, I decided narrow my search to the Rollei 35S, which has a bit of a cult following at the moment. The ‘S’ badge represents its great little 40mm 𝒇2.8 Zeiss Sonnar lens. They’re really hard to find for a good price, so I ended up pulling the trigger on this little Rollei 35T (4-element 𝒇3.5 Tessar, circa 1974-ish) that was on consignment at The Camera Store. Let’s be honest - I’m not going to be shooting wide open anyway, so the Tessar will probably give me the same results at 𝒇8-𝒇16 anyway. I’m not sure if the light meter works, so Sunny 16 here we go!!!

Sara (my daughter) and I headed out to the Pride Day Parade and I was able to capture my first 35mm film shots in nearly 20 years!

Next I’m on the lookout for an Olympus XA, which is supposed to be an amazing little rangefinder. Finding one at a reasonable price is the hard part.
